On 28 October 2026, the UK Budget announced a Data Centre Covenant to support strategically important AI infrastructure through improved electricity connections and planning arrangements. The government also confirmed £1 billion for UKRI innovation clusters. This creates opportunities for data centre operators, AI developers and technology suppliers.
