Lithuania Reports US$1.26 Billion First Payment Request Under EU SAFE Instrument

On 21 October, Lithuania’s Ministry of Finance announced that it had submitted its first €1.06 billion payment request to the European Commission under the Security Action for Europe (SAFE) instrument, approximately US$1.26 billion. The request relates to financing for defence and security investment and should not be described as money already received.
